Problems with cloudy tank water?

Steven B asked:

I have a 29 Gallon Tank in my home. I have a red-eared slider turtle living in it, I just got him yesterday, he’s about 4 inches long and yesterday night the water was crystal-clear and now it’s super cloudy! I don’t know why! It has a filter that’s up to 30 gallons, and there’s only about 18 gallons of water in the tank! Why is the water so cloudy? Please help me!!!

    Same here!!!
Clean out your tank of water and then Just buy Tank cleaner or Tank Conditioner At any pet store and that should solve your problem…

Hey, don’t put chemicals in there as it will kill the animals living in there. Buy a filter or change the water more regulary.

    Good Luck.

It’s just the nitrates circulating in it. You need ammonia clear, and it is safe to use and reduces shock. After a few days the water will get clear again.
